Kuwait Compliance Co. Participates in Kuwait Real Estate Forum 2018
Kuwaiti Compliance Co. participated today in the Kuwait Real Estate Forum, represented by its founder and general manager, Mrs. Huda Al Enezi, who, in her previous experience as former director general of the Anti-Money Laundering Department of the Ministry of Commerce, confirmed that the reported money-laundering cases represent only 6 percent of the total cases, 94 percent of which are not disclosed, noting that Kuwait has advanced its ranking in the international anti-money Laundering (AML) indicators and managed to correct 24 out of 44 points, in which Kuwait was criticized during the previous reports.
Mrs. Al Enezi was invited by the Kuwait Real Estate Association in recognition of the role Kuwait Compliance Co. has played so far in helping Kuwaiti real estate companies in adhering to the applied AML/CFT laws and regulations, the company’s collaboration with the Kuwait Real Estate Association in raising awareness of money-laundering and threats it poses a not only to the real estate sector but to the economy as a whole.
Mrs. Huda Al Enezi delivered a presentation of the most important domestic and international statistics in the fight against money-laundering and the financing of terrorism, the status of Kuwait in terms of its obligations to enforce the anti-money-laundering law and its relationship with the concerned international regulatory and legislative bodies. The audience interacted with the presentation through numerous questions and interjections.
The real estate sector is one of Kuwait’s most important economic sectors, which attracts billions of dinars through the local market’s annual trading, rendering the regulation of the sector and the resolution of all obstacles to investment in it, including adherence to AML/CFT laws and regulations one of the most decisive factors for its development.
