Kuwait Compliance Co. Organizes a Specialized Workshop for KDIPA

Attended by Mr. Mohammad Al-Ojery, Assistant Director General for Financial & Administrative Affairs and organized in cooperation with Leaders Group for Consulting & Development, Kuwait Compliance Co.’s GM and Founder, Huda Al Enezi, delivered a specialized 2-day workshop titled” “The Impact of International AML/CFT Reports on Investment Decisions.”

The workshop was attended by employees representing various departments in KDIPA who interactively expressed their interest in gaining knowledge in the field of AML and took part in a variety of group discussion and exercises that further built their awareness of money laundering and terrorism financing, and their influence on decisions made by international investors approaching the Kuwaiti market.

The issues of corruption and money laundering in economic and business decisions have become a prominent topic in economics and finance and among businessmen and policy makers. Uncertainty due to lack of law enforcement in one country could cause unattractiveness for investment, either from the point of view of domestic investor or foreign ones. According to UNCTAD’s Global Investment Report 2017, Kuwait’s inflowing FDI declined from $3.259 billion in 2011 to an unprecedented $274 million in 2016.
